Royal Caribbean double-points promo caught my eye this week

Just saw on Royal Caribbean Blog that Royal Caribbean rolled out a double Crown & Anchor points promo last week for new bookings made July 21 through July 31, 2026, on sailings from September 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. One thing that jumped out at me: the write-up says it does not combine with complimentary cruises or casino offers. That made my ears perk up, because a lot of us around here live in that overlap between cruise loyalty and casino mailers. Sounds like a nice little boost for folks booking regular fares, but maybe not much help if you mostly sail on casino offers. I’m curious how y’all look at these promos. If you had to choose, would you rather chase extra loyalty points or stick with the casino side and see what offers come later? Denise would probably tell me to stop overthinking it and go find the gumbo on sea day.

That “does not combine” line is the whole story to me. I’d treat it like two separate buckets: paid fare + extra C&A points casino offer + whatever future casino value shows up I’ve done the spreadsheet thing on RC bookings before, and for me the crossover point is usually whether I was going to pay cash anyway. If yes, double points is a real perk. If I’m sitting on a decent casino rate or comp, I’m usually not paying extra just to juice status because the math gets thin fast. Also worth checking if the booking can be repriced later without losing the promo. Anybody know if RC is being strict on that?

I look at it as a vibe choice more than a math choice. If I’m already planning a regular balcony booking with friends or family, double points is a fun little nudge. But if I’m sailing mainly because a casino offer got me on board, I’m not swapping that out just to watch the loyalty counter move faster. One thing I’d want to know is whether NextCruise bookings made onboard count if they fall in that window, or if this is strictly fresh outside bookings. RC can get fussy with promo wording. Anybody seen the actual terms?

I’d want the exact offer terms before assuming too much from a blog summary. With Royal, the important bits are usually the exclusions list, whether group/NextCruise/casino rates are specifically carved out, and what counts as a “new booking” versus a transfer or reprice. “Not combinable with complimentary cruises or casino offers” usually means exactly that, but sometimes casino certificate sailings and casino pricing are treated a little differently in the fine print. If anyone has the PDF or screenshot from Royal’s promo page, post it. That’ll answer more than the headline does.
