Carnival’s new Rewards program is getting a lot more real now

I was reading Cruise Industry News this week, and the most interesting item for our crowd was Carnival rolling out more details on its new Carnival Rewards setup, including milestone recognition based on days sailed instead of just counting cruises. There was also a June Carnival news release saying the new program launched June 1, 2026 and ties status and rewards to both travel activity and spending. My take: anytime a line shifts from simple cruise-count loyalty to a more airline/hotel style program, I read the fine print a little harder. Sometimes longer cruisers come out ahead, sometimes casual players or short-cruise regulars feel the squeeze, and casino guests may or may not see any practical difference until offers start shaking out. Has anyone here actually sailed under the new setup yet and noticed changes in how offers, onboard perks, or tracking look on your account?

I haven’t sailed under it yet, but the switch to days sailed caught my eye too. Gene and I used to do more 4- and 5-day runs out of Port Canaveral, and a days-based setup can change the math for folks like us pretty quick. What I’m waiting to see is whether the casino side looks any different in the account after a cruise, or if it’s mostly the regular loyalty piece getting a new coat of paint. Carnival does love its fine print. If anyone has screenshots of how play or offers are showing now, that would be useful.

If somebody’s sailed since June 1, did your post-cruise folio or VIFP/Rewards page show anything new, or was it mostly same porch with fresh paint?

I haven’t sailed Carnival since the June switch, but the part I’m watching is whether the new structure changes behavior around itinerary choice more than casino choice. A 7-day Alaska or Panama run reads very differently under a days-sailed model than a string of quick turnarounds, even before spending enters the picture. That could matter for people who cruise for both the ship and the casino, not just the offer.
